Christmas & Exciting Things

After a crazy hectic Christmas, I have finally managed to sit down and get blogging! So firstly, I must apologise for the length of time since my last post and now let's get to it!

This post is going to be a little jumble of outfits I have enjoyed over the festive period!

Dress - ASOS Curve, Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Lipstick - Topshop.

Oh goodness, this dress makes me so happy. It encompasses everything I adore! Spots, lace, lightweight materials, puff sleeves and more! I bought this on eBay however it was originally from ASOS Curve. It makes me feel so fabulous and glamorous without feeling too overdressed or fussy - but I would easily be able to really dress it up with shoes and accessories if the occasion called for it.
I wore this to my Mother-In-Laws birthday gathering which was just at her house but all the family came over - so I wanted something dressy but nothing too over the top and this felt just perfect! Also, thank goodness my hair is FINALLY getting longer, praise the Lord.

Faux Fur Jacket - Simply Be, Pinafore - Alice & You for ASOS Curve, Sheer Shirt - Charity Shop, Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Socks and Bag - Primark, Boots - Dorothy Perkins.

The day after the Mother-In-Laws birthday we decided to go for a little stroll around a beautiful lake (although the walk was some what treacherous due to the icy conditions) and a little look around the shops. I adore this Alice & You pinafore, it is so comfortable, warm and flattering. However unfortunately it has gotten quite bobbly even though I've only worn it a handful of times but that's nothing a little TLC can't fix! I've worn this shirt in another post and I love it, it was an absolutely Charity shop bargain. I wore a little top underneath it on this day because it was freezing but I could easily wear it with the pinafore and just a bra underneath for a more racy outfit option!

I have had this swing coat from Simply Be, literally for years and I adore it. It's so perfect for icy cold wintery days because it's lovely and warm. I have had to resew different buttons onto it due to the original buttons dropping off over time but i don't mind!

I apologise that my boots aren't entirely visible as they are the newest part of my outfit, so I've added a better photograph underneath from the day I bought them (along with socks and a necklace I got that day too in the Dorothy Perkins sale). I love them. They are mostly leather but with a small suede section at the back, in the ankle area. Usually I'm a size 8 but these are so roomy I got them in a 7 and they're super comfortable and added the little socks because it was freezing haha.

I also love how handsome my gorgeous man looks in these photographs!

I got so many beautiful things for Christmas but when we went shopping I stumbled into a beauty outlet store which was MIND BLOWING! There were so many amazing brands for ridiculous prices! I bagged an OPI nail varnish, a Calvin Klien blusher, a Revlon lipgloss, a Rimmel mascara, a Maybelline nail varnish and more all for under £30!!

The OPI varnish in incredible. It goes on quite thin but with a few coats the colour is so even and smooth. The shade is Over The Taupe and i feel like it would go with 99% of outfits! I used the topcoat I bought at the same store with it too and it's a Non-Yellowing Top Coat Nail Treatment in Ultra Shine (I'm afraid it doesn't seem to have a brand name on it). I am so pleased with the results!

I also got this super cute fur headband as a Christmas gift and I love it! I was never sure whether I could pull one of these off and I'm still not sure - but I will wear it anyway haha!

I had such a wonderful Christmas and I hope y'all did too! I am so looking forward to seeing all your festive period posts!

Finally, a little while ago I was asked for an interview for the IGIGI Bloggers Of Note page and the interview is now up on their website! I feel so honoured to have been asked for this as my blog is only small and Jane that wrote the piece is not only beautiful but a super lovely lady too! If you have two minutes to give it a read, that would be ace!

The article has already had some amazing comments left on it and I really feel so humbled that anyone would be interested in my view on fashion, which is something I love dearly and feel so passionately about!

A Sort Of Masquerade Christmas Party

Firstly, I would like to apologise for my lack of blogging lately! The festive season has snuck up on me and I've suddenly been insanely busy! Secondly, I would like to apologise for the poo quality of the photos that will feature in this post!

On Friday evening it was my works Christmas party! It was half masquerade themed and half just smart party wear themed and I can assure you that given any excuse to dress up, I will embrace it wholeheartedly.

Dress - Lovedrobe (but I got it from eBay, tags still on!), Tights - Evans, Boots - ASOS, Bag - 80's vintage (given to me by my Mamma).

I literally love this dress. It is so comfortable, flattering and perfect for festive parties because it is about as gold and spangly as humanly possible without featuring any itchy, scratchy sequins! The length is just right, not too short, not too long and if you are a braver individual than me, it could easily be worn in the summer without tights. I had planned to wear a sheer shrug with it but once I actually had the outfit on, I realised it really didn't need a shrug! My fat arms were ready to party and felt fabulous! It's an unusual pleated but slightly elasticated material with a lining (which is very short but it doesn't matter because the dress isn't sheer) and some lined detailing in the bust area! It has a nipped in, elasticated waist line which allows it to sit comfortably!

I got my mask from a fancy dress shop in Cardiff and I did really like it, however, I only managed to keep it on for about 3 seconds for the fear it would remove my eyebrows AND it made me feel awfully hot and sweaty so it was relegated to head wear which was fine by me!

My boots are pointed, suede, kitten heel Chelsea Boots from ASOS but a good few seasons ago. They are perfect for someone like me who doesn't wear heels (because usually they are so uncomfortable) because they are really comfortable and have the added ankle support due to them being boots but do still have a little heel for a touch of saucy glamour.

I kept my makeup simple, adding a little smokeyness to my eyes using a Chanel palette and a little soft pink glitter to my lips using a Chanel lipgloss.

I felt fabulous and had a lovely evening partying, dancing and drinking gin with all the lovely people from work! Bring on more of these wonderful festivities!

Lots Of Love,

Billy Bragg OOTN

This Friday just gone, my gorgeous man and I went to see Billy Bragg at St David's Hall and it was incredible! Here is what I wore;

Dress - eBay (originally ASOS Curve), Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Socks - ASDA, Boots - Newlook (Wide Fit), Necklace - Charity Shop, Lipstick - MAC, Nail Varnish - Barry M, Ring - My Grandfather's, Scrunchie - Urban Outfitters.

I found this dress on eBay and I absolutely adore it! The fit is so flattering and comfortable, the collar and cuff detailing is perfect and the print is fabulous. I really cannot recommend it highly enough. The nipped in, elasticated waist adds the perfect shape to the dress and the pleating on the bust allows ladies with a larger bust, like myself, to wear the dress without worry of the material pulling.

I love these boots! I don't wear heels usually because I'm 5'7 barefoot so I feel a little uncomfortable in them, but these are just the right height. I don't need to purchase from the wide fit section on the whole but I adored these boots when I saw them so I bought them anyway and the extra room makes them amazingly comfortable! I'm a sucker for the gold panel detailing around the heel too. My little socks were £1.50 from ASDA! You can't see the cute gold flecking through them in this photo but they are great to wear visibly with boots/shoes!

Now it know these reds are not entirely coordinated but I love them both! This Barry M red glitter nail varnish is amazing, especially when used over a solid red. It last forever and is totally chop resistant! For a while I thought I'd lost my MAC lipstick and I was very sad because this is THE perfect shade, it's Lady Danger and I love how matte it is! It lasts all night and is even drink proof.

Finally, here is a photo of my man and I on the train before Billy Bragg, cheering it up haha!

Star Trek & Faux Fur OOTD

So we have our little visitor Fred back for 2 whole weeks and I could not be happier. I just love him. He is a rescue dog and he is the most well behaved, good natured little guy I've ever encountered!

Although he did wake us up licking the floorboards at 6.30am this morning, we managed to force ourselves out of bed and off for his morning walk!

Sunglasses - Primark, Dress - ASOS Curve, Leopard Print Faux Fur Swing Jacket - Simply Be, Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Socks - Primark, Wellies - Dizzy at TReds.

I have had both this dress and jacket for years and I adore them both. My boyfriend calls this my Star Trek dress and I can see his point haha. It's a fine knit, so really warm and perfect for cold morning walks. I love the flare of the skirt and the little honey bee stripes at the bottom of the skirt, around neck and around the bottom of the sleeves.

This jacket is my favourite jacket on the entire world. It's a gorgeous darker leopard print, a super comfortable and flattering cut and although it's not ideal on rainy days, it's perfect for crisp, cold Winter days. It looks amazing with more formal or dressed up outfits but also adds a bit of glamour to a more casual outfit!

These wellies have been a god send! I bought them when shopping with my mum after getting caught in a huge downpour in little pumps and I have never looked back! They keep my feet warm and dry, are really comfortable for longer walks and look awesome with the stud detail on the bow. They also have a really cute open cut at the ankle so if you have slightly wider ankles - do not fear! They are generously accommodating!

I'm a sucker for a little frilly sock and I picked up these bad boys for £1.50 in Primark. They pull up really high but can also be folded down for a more traditional ankle sock look. I bought 2 pairs just to be safe haha. I also bought a pair of sunglasses identical to these in Topshop for £15 and one of the arms snapped off after a few weeks! I was very sad! So when I found these in Primark for £2, I thought hell, if they only last as long as the rubbish Topshop ones I'll be happy because they're an 8th of the price! 3/4 months on and they're still going strong! I love sunglasses, I would own hundreds of pairs if I could!

Now we're home, this little guy is having a snooze and I'm off to make some Flapjack! There's nothing better than baking on a Sunday!

Remember Remember

So today was Bonfire night and we went to watch an amazing Fireworks display on Barry Island beach!

It was absolutely freezing so wrapping up warm was essential.

adore this eyelash cardigan, it is so comfortable and unbelievably soft! It doesn't have buttons but it sits perfectly and the long sleeves hang at a perfect length. I also could not praise peplum tops enough! When I initially saw them I didn't think I would be able to pull them off but one day I decided to bite the bullet and try one and I never looked back! I now own a small collection and love them, especially with skirts to add that extra something!

Usually I struggle to fit into anything from Primark but this maxi skirt is a size 20 and fits amazingly. The elasticated waist is incredibly generous, especially if worn high on the waist (as I wear all my skirts) and the length is perfect for me (I'm 5'7ish!). I really think the elasticated waist skirts are worth looking through in Primark even if you are over a size 20 like I am, I've managed to find some amazing maxi's specifically in there

These boots were £12 from ASDA and they are ridiculously comfortable. Although they aren't necessarily as statement as the usual shoes I would wear, they are perfect for occasions such as this, where staying warm and comfortable (but still stylish!) is imperitive! Everyone needs to own a go-to pair of everyday boots!

Now £8 is a lot to spend on 1 pair of thin knit socks in my eyes but I couldn't resist these! They aren't at all itchy or scratchy even though when I initially saw them I thought they would be! They are perfect for tucking your leggings into to keep warm, teamed with a pair of boots! They can even be worn with pumps because they are so cute and sparkly!

This necklace cost me £1.50 and I love it. It's vintage, simple and can be worn with a casual or dressed up outfit! I can already tell it will become a staple of my accessory collection!

Cardigan - Newlook Inspire, Peplum Top - Newlook Inspire, Maxi Skirt - Primark, Boots - ASDA, Socks - Urban Outfitters, Necklace - Charity Shop, Leggings - Newlook Inspire.

The fireworks were fabulous and although we were stood right by the sea and the waves were crashing in on us, I still loved it!

Cold Shoulder OOTD

Today we braved the gail-force winds and ventured in to Cardiff for the day! We had a lovely time, despite the weather and here is what I wore;

Dress - ASOS Curve (bought via eBay), Vest Top - ASOS Curve, Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Shoes - Primark, Scrunchie - Urban Outfitters.

I received this dress through the post yesterday and I adore it! The cold shoulder design is something so different and it adds an entirely different element to an otherwise classic shift dress. I bought it a size bigger (just because I was desperate to have it as soon as I found it on eBay haha), so I popped a vest top underneath it so as not to expose to much flesh to the elements. But the material sits incredibly well so if I didn't wear anything underneath it, I don't think there would be any unnecessary exposure which is always a bonus haha!

I picked up these pumps in Primark for £5 and I love love love them! They are so comfortable! Due to the fact they are a velour material, they wouldn't really be suitable for wearing on rainy days but that's fine by me! I love the little tassles.

As I've said on other posts recently, I'm currently in a bit of a hair rut so I'm cloning to any style that makes my hair look semi acceptable and that style is currently the bun! I picked up this scrunchie in Urban Outfitters for £4 and I love it. It's just a cute little addition to spruce up the simple bun! It's actually a sheer black material with a very faint polka dot but sadly the light here doesn't show that!

This ring belonged to my Grandfather and was given to him by my Great Grandmother (you can just about make out the inscription she had done for my Grandfather) so it is over 60 years old. It's misshapen and scratched but I adore it because it belonged to my Grandfather, who was the most incredible, wonderful human being.

Lastly I will apologise in advance as I very rarely change my makeup! The only thing I really do differently is add a flash of lipstick! This particular lipstick is from Topshop, it does ware fairly quickly but I adore the shade so I don't mind reapplying when necessary!

I love this dress and these shoes and I would really recommend all you ladies considering this dress to 100% get it! It can be dressed up or down, is so comfortable and I felt fabulous in it!

Style It Saturday - 50's Pinup

I am always so excited when I get the email through with the latest Style It Saturday theme!

This time the theme is 50's Pinup! Initially I read it and was super excited but then I realised I actually don't have a whole lot that would work with this theme!

I think the pinup look is incredibly hard to pull off and when it's worn well it looks fantastic but when it isn't, it can lean slightly towards the tacky side (and not the fabulous kind of tacky). So I have tried to put together a look for this theme with a twist of my own style. It may not be entirely historically accurate or classic but it is definitely me!

Dress - ASOS Curve, Cropped Cardigan - Primark, Bow - eBay.

This dress is very, very old ASOS Curve and I love it! The material is so soft and flattering and sits perfectly around my curves. I tend to avoid wrap dresses because they do seem to encourage embarrassing boob slippage but I made an exception for this dress (I just use a small safety pin and pin the dress to my bra in order to avoid this issue!). The capped sleeves are so cute, perfect for wearing on display or under a cardigan/wrap/jacket. I also love this dress because the side tie stays tied! There has never been an occasion where I've had to fiddle with it to make sure it stays on, it holds for as long as you wear it!

The cardigan is new season Primark and I love it. It is unbelievably soft and fluffy and so comfortable. It can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion and what you wear it with. It has fabulously tacky big diamond buttons and would be perfect for Christmas parties! I bought this in a size 20 and although it would gape if I wanted to do it up (which I wouldn't anyway!), it fits flawlessly otherwise and I'm usually a size 24!

I love cheap and cheerful hair accessories and I bought this bow on eBay, from Korea, for £2.50 including p&p! I loved it so much I also got it in forest green haha. Although I must admit, my choice of hairstyle has been rather lazy of late and this is a staple I have kept coming back to, however I do think it works well with this outfit!

This ring belonged to my Grandmother and it is actually from the 1950's! It's not a precious stone or any kind of fancy metal, but it's special to me and I adore it. It's also adjustable which means I can wear it on any finger I like.

To finish off the look, I added a little flash of Bourjois Rouge Collection red lipstick to my usual makeup which I have been told is already quite pin up haha(not intentionally) and I was ready to go!

I am seriously loving these Style It Saturday themes and I already cannot wait to take part in the next one!

Spots & Buns OOTD

Another Saturday, another outfit! I am absolutely loving the new found chill in the air and this is the time of year in which I can crack out all my favourite pieces!

Dress - Charity Shop (originally Sainsburys however), Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Shoes - eBay, Jacket - Beth Ditto for Evans (her first collection).

This dress is one of my favourite casual pieces. So soft, so comfortable but I still feel fabulous and sexy in it. I don't normally like wrap dresses, as being an ample chested lady, I struggle with them being too revealing however this one is stitched inside so doesn't gape at all! It's brilliant! It hugs all my curves in the right places and I love it.

I was sent these shoes by mistake in the place of another item I ordered on eBay which initially I was annoyed about haha but when I tried the shoes on and they fitted, I was pretty stoked! They're a gorgeous colour and a really soft, comfy faux suede (not so great for rainy days though).

I love this nail varnish! It's Sinful Colours Pistache and only cost me £1.99 in Boots! It goes on well, dries smoothly and lasts really well with a good topcoat.

Finally, having recently discovered the power of my £1 Primark bun ring - this will, no doubt, be my chosen hairstyle for the foreseeable future!

I am going through somewhat of a hair crisis at the moment so any style I can find that makes my mop feel a little less like a scruffy mess, I will be fully embracing. I am seriously thinking about the above crop, but I am still considering my options haha!

The Autumn Chill

I cannot express how happy I am about the return of the cold Autumn weather! It is glorious! I've never been one for the Summer - the fashions don't inspire me because frankly during those months I'm just too sweaty to care about anything!

We are currently looking after our friends adorable little Jack Russell, Fred. So yesterday we got home from work and needed to take the little guy for a walk - this is what I wore;

Cardigan - Urban Outfitters Renewal, Dress - ASOS Curve, Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Shoes - River Island.

I love this dress. It's a knitted jersey so unbelievably comfortable but also lovely and warm! Living on an Island means it's constantly windy so I added the cardigan just to be safe! The dress sits perfectly at my waist, providing a super flattering hour glass illusion.

I am currently having a hair trauma, so I apologise for the lazy up-do I've got going on in this post. I'm in an absolutely quandary as to whether I should keep growing it or do a Miley and crop it! I currently hate it as I feel it looks so scruffy and has no shape or style and is just a mop of nothingness! But everyone keeps telling me to keep growing it which almost makes me want to cut it off even more!

She might be a crazy bitch but that's a seriously fabulous pixie crop!

I am seriously loving looking after Fred because anyone that knows me will tell you I am obsessed with dogs. All I want is a dog of my very own but at the moment we aren't really at home enough to have one! But look at how gorgeous he is;

And another bonus of walking him daily is that I get to see this incredible view of the island I live on;

This post does slightly veer off of the fashion track so I do apologise but I thought I'd share a little of my life with y'all at the same time as sharing my outfit!

Lots Of Love,
