Bagging A Bargain

Like most of y'all out there, I love a bargain and this Winter, I was desperate for a new coat. Although the worst of the Winter is now over (supposedly!), I am so glad that I waited and managed to bag this bad boy;

Coat - Newlook Inspire, Dress - ASOS Curve, Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Socks - Primark, Boots - Dorothy Perkins, Bag - Primark.

I literally adore this coat. It is the Winter coat I have been waiting for all of my life haha! It's a fairly heavy knit material, with a lovely satin lining. It's really warm and cosy, without being sweaty or stifling, which I do find an issue when I'm picking a coat because I do get really hot! I bought this coat 2 sizes bigger than my normal size. I think the loose fit cut really benefits from having additional material and I wanted to make sure it looked and felt like a coat, not a blazer/jacket. I would really recommend this coat to everyone, I love it and could not be happier with it! The fact it was £20 in the sale was just a super bonus.

Speaking of bargains, in the New Year I picked up this gorgeous jersey skater dress in the ASOS Curve sale for just £12.50! It's so comfortable and the skirt has such a cute pleat to it. The sleeves are a lovely 3/4 length and I often wear this dress in work as well as out of work. I adore the length and the gorgeous floral pattern is perfectly feminine without being too OTT!

Now I'm not really feeling the new 'structured bag' trend that I've seen popping up all over the place. This isn't because I don't like the style but it's simply because I find it so inconvenient! The bag itself takes up so much more space! So when I found this lovely simple, black, faux leather shopper in Primark, I was totally chuffed. No structuring and it contains this amazing connected purse that can be used for storing more important/delicate items to make up for it's lack of pockets! I paid £9 for this and I absolutely love it!

I don't often buy things in TK Maxx but when I found this Models Own Ice Neon Collection polish in Pukka Purple (I apologise that it looks blue in this photograph) for £2.99 I knew I had to have it! It goes on super smoothly, dries amazingly and lasts really well with a good topcoat! I would have happily paid the RRP of £5 for it!

During lazy weekends, I try to not wear too much makeup, just to give my eyes and skin a little rest. However, today I was particularly happy with my eyebrows so I decided to share a photo of my face with you haha! This look contains Illamasqua Skin Base, Body Shop pressed powder, Calvin Klein bronzer, Collection 2000 eyebrow pencil in blonde, Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara and a dash of generic brand bronze eyeshadow! I'm not particularly experimental with makeup as once I've found a product I like, I will religiously stick with it so 99.9% of makeup looks i post will contain the same products.

However, the ultimate bargain of this weekend definitely goes to this gorgeous vintage Panasonic record cabinet we picked up in a charity shop for just £2.99! It's amazing!

A Wedding To Remember

This weekend past, my lovely man and I went to a wedding! I won't lie, I was never one of those little girls that spent their early years planning their weddings and dreamt of getting married, however, nowadays it is the perfect excuse to get dressed up and that is just what we did!

Dress - Joanna Hope for Simply Be, Tights - Evans, Bag - Peacocks, Boots - ASOS.

This is quite possibly the most wonderful dress I have ever owned! It is just flawless! So flattering, beautifully made, unbelievably comfortable and it made me feel line a 1950's movie star! The peplum, belt and skirt sections are velvet and the bust and sleeve sections are a beautiful soft lace with a lining behind the busy area (to prevent too much exposure haha). The sleeves are a wonderful three quarter length that allowed me to flash some of my often hidden tattoos, without being too cold in this grim weather! The belt is entirely aesthetic and can't be adjusted but the little gold twinkle is the perfect addition to the gorgeous peplum waist!

As I've said before, Evans tights are the ones for me! So comfortable, durable as long lasting and these boots have featured in several of my previous posts! Although I'm really not a fan of heels, these have a little kitten heel that adds a dash of glamour without being too uncomfortable - especially considering a wedding is always a long day!

I managed to get this dress in the Simply Be sale for half price! I paid £50, down from £100 and i cannot stress enough how worth the money it is! You can still grab it at half price on the Simply Be website - http://www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/joanna-hope-hotlist-lace-trim-velour-dress/sz432/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=9614#colour:Black/Gold,size:

Another sale bargain was my adorable little green bag! I snapped it up in the Christmas sale in Peacocks for £3! I initially wasn't sure if it would work with this dress but I'm so glad I decided to chance it and bought it anyway! The little fox face is so cute and set off the little gold detailing on the belt of the dress perfectly.

Now here is a photo of my lovely man and I! Not only does this show how wonderfully dapper he looked, it also showcases my wedding makeup of choice!

My skin routine is always the same; Illamasqua Skin Base foundation, Body Shop pressed powder, Calvin Klein bronzer and a Benefit Highlighter. My eyebrow routine is always the same; Collection 2000 eyebrow pencil in blonde, filled in with a generic bronze eyeshadow. I kept my eye makeup classic because I thought that would offset the dress perfectly; GOSH liquid eyeliner, Rimmel Kohl eyeliner, Rimmel Scandaleyes Extreme Black mascara and a generic shimmer glitter eyeshadow. Then lipstick was the hard choice! In the end I decided to go for a darker shade as I felt red may have been a little cliche so I chose Maybelline 24 Superstay Lipcolour in Perpetual Plum!

The colour side is a little tricky to apply as it dries very quickly and is a bold colour however once you've got it on and top it off with the moisturising balm the colour is incredible! I wouldn't say it lasts for 24 hours however it does last amazingly well and even withstands eating and drinking and can be perked up with just a top up on the moisturising balm! I would highly recommend it!

Now, for all your Fatshionista men out there, look how incredible my handsome man looked on the day! M&S cord blazer - Charity shop, Velvet bow tie - Charity shop, button down collar shirt - Burton, slacks - M&S, shoes - TK Maxx, pocket square - Burton. My man is an absolute bargain hunter and this outfit coat him no more than £60! I was even more proud than usual to be on his arm that day!

Finally, check out the gorgeous couple on their big day! The bride wore an incredible 1930's vintage, sequined, floor length, Art Deco gown, it was unbelievably beautiful and their wedding cake was jaw dropping!

They also had an amazing photo booth, with hundreds of hilarious props. Which we, of course, took full advantage of!

We had such a beautiful day and I cannot express how gorgeous I felt in this dress! Thank you Simply Be and thank you Joanna Hope!

Lots Of Love,
