ADIDAS & Westwood

As a person, I don't purchase things for the brand. If I like something, I'll buy it - I wouldn't be put off by a certain brand or anything of that nature! However, this weekend, my outfit was more brand led than usual (completely unintentionally).

Sunglasses - Urban Outfitters, Shirt - Evans, Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Socks - Primark, Bag - Vivienne Westwood, Shoes - ADIDAS.

This shirt is amazing! It is SUPER old from Evans and I bought it several sizes too big because I love a slouchy shirt! It's also a little sheet, which is fabulous. It's a super thin material but manages to keep you warm in colder weather and cool in warmer weather - which makes it fully wearable all year round!

From looking at my style, I'm sure y'all can tell that I am not a trainer person at all. But my brother on the other hand, is a totL sneaker pimp! Every few months he will have a clear out of his old (he says they're old, they've usually never been worn more than twice) shoes and will always give them to my boyfriend! Endless pairs of limited edition Nikes, ADIDAS, Vans etc! When out latest bag arrived, I saw these and knew I had to pinch them for myself! They are a size too big but don't feel/look that way! According to my sneaker obsessed brother they're ADIDAS Tech Super 2.0 in black and they feel like you're walking on air! They are literally the first pair of sneakers I've ever worn as an adult other than Vans (which aren't really sneakers).

This utter beauty cost me £25 from eBay! Now there is more than a 75% chance it ISN'T real, but for £25, I am not going to complain! It is beautiful! The perfect size to fit everything you need, without being big enough to cause rummaging problems. I would really recommend eBay and Depop when you're lusting after designer brands but aren't able to pay the full designer price!

My nails this week are courtesy of the Rimmel Sweetie Crush range in shade Violet Swizzle! I love the finish on this polish - it has an almost textured edge that looks a little like sherbert (which I guess was the idea haha). It's such a cute polish and leaves a lovely gentle colour on your nails. Perfect for the summer pastel trends and also if you want something not too heavy as an everyday polish!

We had such a lovely Saturday in Penarth with some friends, eating delicious food and getting caught in the crazy on off downpours!

Busty Beach Day

This weekend I have done nothing else but enjoy the gorgeous weather! Yesterday we attended a lovely birthday BBQ and today we went for our first sea swim of the year as a couple (my man has braved it and been by himself a few times before!). For plus size women, summer and the prospects of swimwear can be a scary thing, but there is NO reason why it should be, ever!

Hat - Charity Shop, Kimono - ASOS Curve, Swimsuit - Charity Shop (BNWT originally from Tesco), Skirt - Primark, Jelly Shoes - Primark, Sunglasses - Urban Outfitters.

We live a 5 minute walk from a gorgeous secluded beach and the same distance from the well known Barry Island beach but on days where you want a lovely swim and a chill out, our little beach is the best option. This is what I wore to the beach. I always take a cover up of some kind when we head to the beach and it's sunny because if it gets too hot, I really will end up burnt to a crisp. So a cover up just takes the edge of the suns glaring rays on my extra pale skin (I always make sure I use factor 50 too!). This skirt is super old but perfect for a hot beach day, it's such a relaxed, flowing fit that it allows the most air possible through to my pins! Finally I cannot stop lusting after all the jelly shoes. They are the perfect alternative to flip flops (which I personally just cannot get on with) and are great for wearing to the beach and even in the sea!

This swimsuit was the find of the century! It cost me £4 and came BNWT! I know some people might find it a bit gross buying a swimsuit from a charity shop but i thoroughly washed it before wearing and it came with the tags so was clearly not heavily used. It has an adorable little skirt attached which was a swimsuit style I had been looking for for ages! The back is very low which does leave room for additional sunburn areas but it's so comfortable. As a busty lady I am always concerned about swimwear without padding in the breast area but this one is great! It has no padding but it is very supportive and ensures your boobs stay in their appropriate area! When I wear it, it reminds me of thi scene from Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd (which always makes me chuckle).

Ladies, I implore you all to embrace swimwear. Whether it be a swimsuit, a bikini and two piece or any other kind of swimming garment you feel comfortable it! Don't miss out on swimming in the sea comfortably (I see so many plus size ladies going in the sea in their clothes and it makes me a little sad) or feeling the sun caressing you as you dry off on your towel after a dip! Find swimwear you feel comfortable in, be confident wearing it and you will, without fail, look fabulous!

Suns Out, Maxi's On

Lately, I have been absolutely manically busy so haven't had any time to blog which makes me sad! Work has been crazy and I'm learning to drive so there is lots happening! But I'm so glad that on this gorgeous weekend, I have finally had time to sit down and get blogging.

Dress - ASOS Curve, Shoes - Vivienne Westwood, Beads - Vintage (from my Nana), Sunglasses - Urban Outfitters.

I adore this dress. It is old ASOS Curve and I have had it for years but it comes out, without fail, every summer. It's so light and airy and the material is beautifully soft so it's amazingly comfortable. I love the delicate pleating around the bust which means extra room for my giant bosoms thus there is no unsightly pulling of the material! The only tiny tiny gripe I have with the dress is that the straps are adjustable, which is amazing, but they have become slightly mishapen and twisted over the years! But that is something I'm sure could be fixed with a little ironing and perseverance!

I bought these shoes 2 years ago for £40 in the 50% January sale at the Cardiff Vivienne Westwood store and they are literally the greatest flat shoes I have ever owned. They're a jelly material so mould to your feet making them ridiculously comfortable (although not amazing if it suddenly rains as they just won't stay on haha) and they smell like strawberries! Seriously! I've had them 2 years and they still smell like delicious strawberry bubble bath. When I bought them I didn't realise they were scented but after googling, it turns out they were made with the intention of being scented shoes! It's amazing, especially when you consider the rubbery material, which usually smells awful.

These beads are a little bit of an unlikely family airloom. They were my Grandmothers and then my Mothers and now they are mine. They're just simple plastic black beads but they're a bit of a treasure to me and perfect if you want something simple and stylish to go with any outfit.

And finally, the hair has gone! I just have too much hair to have it longer over the hot (hopefully anyway haha) summer months! I've never been nervous about cutting my hair short and this isn't the shortest I've had it (my fringe is pinned under here because it was so warm/sweaty) and I love it. It's so easy to wash and style and it feels really liberating! All those haters that say fat girls can't crop their hair because it's unflattering can shut up! Fat ladies and not so fat ladies a like, if you've ever wanted to cut your hair off but have feared being judged/regretting it, just do it! You only live once and it's only hair, if you decide it isn't for you, it will grow back and then at least you will have done it and won't be wondering for years to come!
