#BoobsOverBellyButtons

So, apparently, the latest proof of your level of 'health and fitness' is whether or not you can stretch your arms around yourself and touch your belly button?
 

You cannot be serious.

Who comes up with this shit?

Now, as ya'll know, I'm not usually one to get embroiled in these weight loss, health, fitness type debates but this made me chuckle, it really did. It is so absurd and frankly, a little dangerous. Kids, please don't try this, your elbows just don't bend that way, it's inhuman. 


Let me prove how ridiculous this is to you.


This is my best friend, Roxanne. Aside from being utterly beautiful and my sister from another mister, she is also a slim, toned, size 10/12 (if not smaller) and she also suffers from Hypermobility Syndrome. For those of ya'll that don't know, this is the definition of Hypermobility;

'Joint hypermobility means that some or all of a person's joints have an unusually large range of movement'.

By the logic of this 'test', Roxanne should be able to reach around herself and touch her belly button WITHOUT suffering from hypermobility because she is fit and healthy? HOWEVER, after seeing my post about this, Roxanne informed me that even WITH her hypermobility she was still unable to do this.

So, let me get this straight, someone who is fit, health and slim AND has joints that are naturally more mobile than the average human being, she STILL can't do this to 'prove' her health and fitness level?


Basically, its all a bunch of crap. Stop trying to touch your belly buttons, touch something far more important instead.

YOUR BOOBS!

My girls over at Curvy Kate and the wonderful people at CoppaFeel have decided that we should be focusing on #BoobsOverBellyButtons. Checking your breasts for irregularities and lumps is hugely important, far more so than trying to reach the impossible of your belly button whilst your arms are wrapped around you backwards! Sadly, breast examination isn't focused on as much as it should be because crap like 'the belly button challenge' overrides it. So ladies, take your hands and grasp those glories mammaries of yours and give them a good squeeze. They are something really worth grabbing!
