Call Her Green

So, this weekend, my beautiful man and I officially became home owners! It is so odd that I genuinely feel more grown up. Having moved all of our things into our new house, it was them time to head out for dinner for the sister-in-laws birthday!

Dress - Grazia for Simply Be, Tights - Evans, Shoes - Newlook (Widefit), Clutch - Newlook.

This dress is heavenly - especially the colour. I really struggle to find items in great shades of green, so when I found this i new I had to have it. The material is super soft and comfortable and the neckline is fabulous - I love the thin sheer panels, i think it adds that extra something to make this a really fantastic piece.

I also love the tiered effect of the non-sheer panels which go down in size as they get closer to your neck. I think it's so unusual and really eye catching!

I picked up these shoes and this clutch (which I had been lusting after for months) in the Newlook sale for a combined total of £12! Such a bargain! The shoes are amazing - super sleek, comfortable and incredibly versatile, I could wear them smart, casual, to work or out for the evening as I have done here. I honestly love nothing more than a slightly masculine tailored shoe! Also, what can I really say about this clutch other than it is most likely the greatest clutch I own haha! It's so much fun and can really be the perfect statement item to set an outfit off!

It's also great as a ridiculous photo prop!

For dinner, we went to Bistro8 which is just outside Risca in South Wales and it was glorious! Pembrokeshire baby squid, rare sirloin steak and Baileys cheesecake. Exactly what was needed after our day of officially moving into our very own home!

Fool In The Rain

I don't know about you, but I really struggle with casual, rainy day outfits and outfits to go for Sunday morning walks in. Any excuse, even going to the shops, is an excuse for me to over dress haha! So when it comes to needing something comfortable and practical yet still glamorous, I end up stumped! Which is why, when plus size retailer Topsy Curvy so kindly offered to send me on of their gorgeous swing dresses, I was elated.

Swing Dress - Topsy Curvy, Leggings - Newlook Inspire, Wellies - TReds.

This swing dress really is the perfect casual, rainy day/Sunday morning walk item! It's super easy to wear and comfortable, but also still fabulous without being OTT! The material of the tunic is super soft and quite thin so on an extra cold day, I would recommend adding a little strap top underneath, just to make sure you're nice and cosy! The material of the arms is faux leather look and is super comfy and super stretchy, so can easily be worn over something or under something! I love the fact I can just throw this on with some leggings, a statement pair of wellies and some lipstick and a rainy day/Sunday morning walk is instantly more glam!
As well as casual items like this, I also struggle with finding cute and also practical outerwear! Something that will keep me dry if i were to get caught in a shower but also warm to wear out on a frosty day! In all honesty, I had given up looking for an item like this until one day I simply stumbled across this absolutely glorious find!

Coat - eBay (originally ASOS Curve), Beanie - Handknitted (by a family friend).

Oh this coat, THIS COAT! It is waterproof, warm AND CUTE! I am genuinely blown away by how in love with this I am! It makes me feel like Paddington Bear going on an adventure! I found this on eBay but it was originally from ASOS Curve, however, I 100% had never seen it on their website. Maybe it was an item they decided not to sell?  I'm not sure. But a wonderful lady is selling it on eBay in a variety of sizes and i cannot recommend it enough to all of you! Get this coat and wear it as a beacon to prove practical does not always have to mean boring!

Teddy Girl

Sometimes I love adding a little retro twist to my outfits. Taking a little inspiration from iconic styles always pleases me hugely! This time, I have embraced a little of the incredible Teddy Boy, thanks to a little help from a gorgeous number gifted to me by plus size retailer Topsy Curvy.

Shirt - Topsy Curvy, Jacket - Charity Shop, Boots - Evans, Necktie - Vintage.

This shirt is the epitome of incredible! It is so unusual and cut so perfectly. Usually
I'm not a shirt girl because being busty can cause a lot of pulling and popping issues! But thankfully, this shirt is an exception to that rule. The dipped front and back with the high cut sides are super dramatic and allow you to flash the flesh and feel hugely sexy, whilst still remaining modest and classy! If you wanted to formalise the shirt dress or wear it more classically, the buttons at the side do up to leave just a little high rise effect!

It's a super soft, good quality material that is breathable but also warm. The traditional, masculine cut of the collar allows you to wear it buttoned with an accessory, as I have here, or open and more casual!

This stunning necktie actually belongs to my man, but I borrowed it for the greater good of this outfit haha! It was such a great find and its so unusual - I love it! It works perfectly to add that little extra something to this great shirt dress.

What fashion movements inspire you?

She Will See You Now

I love surprising people. I love bringing something that no one would have expected and I love that I can do that at work. When people speak to me on the phone, they are usually quite shocked when they then meet me because I am heavily tattooed. People don't often associate being heavily tattooed with also being smart, professional, polite and intelligent. So, to me, power dressing is a great way to feel sexy without being OTT and to also show that you can be heavily tattooed and very professional!

Jacket - Lovedrobe, Dress - Monroe Knows, Shoes - Newlook.

The wonderful people at Lovedrobe kindly sent me this gorgeous jacket and it is the PERFECT addition to my power dressing wardrobe. I adore it! Anything with shoulder pads and I am sold but this jacket offers everything in my opinion! The waterfall cut of the front is flattering and comfortable, the shoulder pads add shape and definition to the soft material and the colour and 'tweed' pattern give it the edge that I love. It's such a great fit and the sleeves are a great length too - still professional but without being too formal and rigid like some long sleeved Blazers can feel.

This jacket is available in other colours too but I loved the sexy depth of this purple! Teamed with this incredible, classic dress and a pair of patent heels I feel more than ready to take on any business world!

You Better Check Yourself

Checks and grid print are in. Big style. They are this seasons must have and thanks to the wonderful Simply Be, I have found my staple check grid print piece!

Jacket - Simply Be, Shirt - Charity Ship, Skirt - Primark, Bag - Fiorelli at Simply Be, Brogues - Newlook (Widefit).

This jacket is heavenly, it's that simple. The fit is flawless, I've always adored the 60's chic monochrome look, the material is soft and of excellent quality, the length is edgy but classy and i adore everything about it! I had been searching for a duster-esque jacket for a while when I found this one and although it is not the classic duster jacket, it is perfect. I could wear it to work, as a smart yet quirky jacket or I could wear it out as my key outfit piece. It's not lined so could easily be worn under a coat for extra warmth or worn alone as an overcoat. I really could gush about this jacket all day long!

I also don't know about you but I am so particular when it comes to handbags. They have to have that special something that I instantly love and desperately want! This Fiorelli bag has that. It's amazing quality real leather with adjustable straps and a miriad of secret pockets and extra space! I love it!
